girls camp 09

our ward had stake girls camp this past week and i was able to go for the 2nd half of the week (thanks to fam and friends and of course my hubby). it was a really great experience and i got to get to know the girls better and see their cute personalities. it was cowboy themed and our name was the "clementine cuties". i have to say we had the cutest shirts. it was up in a small town past strawberry called long view and the temp went from like 105 to 75. it was amazing. it was such a spiritual uplifting experience and i'm so glad i got to go. i'm already excited for next year!

thurs night was skit night and our ward theme was barbie and the twin peaks w/ life is a highway by rascal flats as our song. the girls did a good job and at the end told what kind of barbie they were.

annie was the camp leader and did such an awesome job. we didn't have hangers for the mallo's so she used this grill thing and made us all some smores.

these are two of my laurels, chelsea who just graduated high school and is leaving in the fall to go to byu and alex who was my little buddy and drove up to camp w/ me! i love them both they are so great!

the last night everyone did their little line dance. after that we all went back to our camp and had a nice testimony meeting w/ just our ward and got to hear the girls thoughts and feelings it was a really great night.

29 weeks

so i'm posting this a week and half late, but better late than never! we had another ultra sound on the 19th of june to see our little biscuit. of course he was sleepy and not too exciting, but she was able to get a couple 3d shots of him. he's still measuring big w/ an aug 24th due date and is approx weighing at 3lbs 6oz, so i'm hoping i can still get induced a week early. we'll see. i'm still able to do all my regular routine and praying i can stick w/ it till the babe comes! he moves all the time that i wonder when he sleeps! it must just be for ultra sounds and when i'm working out! the kids are getting excited for his arrival and so am i. i just have about a billion things to do before he comes!

the first thing i said when we saw him was "wow he looks just like carter". i feel a little less nervous since i think carter is pretty dang cute!

we just got back from some fun trips. we started off going to st. george to see our good friend dave get sealed in the st. george temple. it was a long trip there, but once we got there it was all fun. we stayed w/ the millers at a way nice marriott (thanks char for the hook up). we got to play in the pool and hang out and then went to the sealing. considering we were only there for a day we had a lot of fun.

this is our good friend timmy (dave's bro) it had been over 3 years since we last saw him, so it was so fun to chat for a bit! sarra hopefully we get to see you and the kids next time :)!

for being in ca for a little over a week the only days we saw the sun were when we went to hb or the last day that we left. june gloom is in full swing there. but it was nice to have some cool weather!

laura is 9 mo preg, so we had a little get together at cheesecake factory to celebrate the future arrival of little leah! we can't wait to meet her. and this is kinda getto, but i brought a cheesecake for everyone to eat after and everyone was freakin that i would bring a cheesecake to cheesecake factory. but hello it was yummy and no one had to pay $10 bucks for a slice!

we had a yummy bbq at the lucas fam. it's always fun to be w/ friends and family down there. we miss them so much! good thing it's not that far. yeah for another trip down there already planned for the 4th!

last day of pre school!

today was carter's last day of pre school. i mean he still has a whole year left of pre school for next year, but he'll go 3 days instead of 2. and then after that he's gone out of the house practically! he has come along way since his first day. he still has a lot to work on, but we'll get there. he loves ms. stacey and she has been so good w/ him. we are excited to see what the next year will bring. so now bring on summer and lots of trips to escape the heat!

happy 7 years!

wow 7 years has sure gone by quickly! bren and i had our 7th anniv on may 25, 2009! i remember that special day and how excited we were to become husband and wife. and here we are for the majority i think we are still that excited. i mean we all have our days, but he is my best friend the man i love the most! i always think of that cute song called "lucky" by jason mraz and colbie caillatt and i love the words. every time i hear it i think of my hubby! bren's parents came into town for the holiday weekend, so we could go away for a few nights. of course i didn't take 1 pic, but we had a nice relaxing weekend, filled w/ sleeping in, laying by the pool, going out to eat, we saw a couple movies, and just enjoyed being together w/NO interruptions! we stayed in scottsdale at a westin and since it was a holiday weekend everyone was w/ their families, so of course it made us miss our kids, but it really was a nice break. thanks honey for the trip and it was so fun to spend some alone time w/ you! i love you!

so carter is a big boy now and got to go on his first father and son's camp out! i don't know who was more excited me or carter. i almost felt emotional thinking he's going away for a night will he be warm enough, will he have fun, will he be good, silly worries, but i was nervous. before they left on friday i said "carter mom is gonna miss you while your gone" and he made sure to tell me "but mom we'll be back". it was really sweet. so they drove up to strawberry a couple hours away and had a really fun time. bren said carter loved playing w/ the other kids that were there. they played with flash lights, explored, went on a "bear hunt", roasted marshmellows and hot dogs. sounds like they had an all around great time. next year bren said he'll take savvy too! how cute! too bad that when they got back from the trip bren was down and out w/ the stomach flu, but is doing much better today and carter has stayed fine and healthy! yeah! i'm sure carter's already looking forward to next year.

and just in case your wondering what i did, i got a baby sitter for savvy and went out w/ some girls to my big fat greek restaurant, and then to frozen yogurt after. we had a fun time out and just got to chat away w/ no kids.

happy mom's day!

so since i've been 21 weeks for the past 2 1/2 weeks i decided it was time for a new post. and since yesterday was mother's day i figure may as well say something. it wasn't my fav of days. i think i heard carter melt down like 10 times before we left for church at noon and since bren and i both had to teach and prepare it made for kind of a crazy morning, but it wasn't all bad. church was good and i have to say that carter went up to "sing" and wasn't even scared and even though he didn't sing he just kinda looked out at the crowd and played w/ his gum a little i was totally fighting back the tears thinkin, that is my sweet little boy and he was up there for me. it was a proud moment for sure :)! i got a couple fun treats notice the flowers and the shoes and tickets to see wicked this summer! i'm so excited. i've gotta get the cd to learn the songs. anyway, we had a nice evening w/ the smith fam and marty's sisters and their roommate. it was fun to get so many texts and calls. i'm grateful that i am a mom and for those that bless my life daily. i really am lucky! sad i dropped the ball and didn't get a pic w/ my kids, but i guess there is always next year. lol.

21 weeks!

it's crazy to think i'm more than half way there (hopefully). considering the fact that my due date is sept 5th and the baby measured to be due on aug 25th, i'm a tad nervous for a giant baby! everything looked good and it's still a boy, just a big boy! we'll have another ultra sound in a couple months to check on size n stuff again, so that will be nice. during the ultra sound it was really cute the baby was opening and closing his mouth as if he was talking. love it. i must admit i'm very proud to say that i've been able to go to the gym pretty much everyday this whole pregnancy. so hopefully i won't pack on too much weight! my goal is to go up unto the day and get back to the gym quickly, but we'll see how realistic that is when the baby comes.

playgroup

today we had playgroup at our house. ellie was a new addition since their fam is moving she came to hang out w/ us too. it was ALL about getting wet today. we started off in our backyard and the kids had a blast getting wet in the mini pool we have back there. then i got everyone in new clothes (carter's clothes) and we headed to the park. and who was to know there would be a puddle of water that the kids played in for an hour! sam was the most resistant, but everyone else was drentched by the time we left. here are some pics of them having fun!

they got a bit cold (it was about 90 or so) w/ all their wet clothes on so it was off w/ their shirts (hope their mom's don't hate me)! it was a great play day and everyone got along so well and not much drama at all! it was fun for everyone!

a quick trip to the oc!

we got back from a trip to ca on sun night. bren had a chiropractic seminar in san diego, so it was a perfect chance for us to go and stay at my dad's so bren could do his thing. since our time was limited we didn't do too much, but so many people were busy that weekend it all worked out and was actually really fun! we went to the gym, out to lunch, the beach, the pool, of course had to partake of the golden spoon 100% discount (thanks dad), and just hung out and chatted. good times! looking forward to our next trip out there in june!

sat was the perf beach day! it was beautiful and about 75 or so. the kids had a blast and i got to relax, chat, and catch some rays!

the beutler fam joined us and julie and i were freakin out how much our little girls look alike! they are looking for sea shells.

seriously love this girl! mere is about one of the nicest girls ever and she just came home from byu-i for the summer. she came and hung w/ us and is so much fun to be around! love you mere! good luck on the job search!
